Your Weekly Digestion of Food News....And Chizza?
What do you get after a full day of helping a friend move? Treated to a big bowl of complex carbs and protein! Like the mixed meat and noodle bowl combo from Ba Bar. It is Draper Valley Farms chicken thigh, shrimp, house made beef & pork sausage, crispy pork and shrimp imperial roll with vermicelli noodles, lettuce, bean sprout, cucumber, pickles, fresh mint and basil, roasted peanut, crispy shallot, nước chấm—a Vietnamese dipping sauce. I was really hungry and it was pretty good and I think I liked the sauce the best. I even asked for an extra helping of it. Noodle bowls aren’t my go to but I get why people like this place. If it is your thing they are worth a visit if you don’t mind the cost. The smell of the grilled meats they do is quite enticing.
Barely open a year, Meliora decides to refocus and redesign for a new dining experience? Okay then.
Support the little guy! And quite literally a one man delivery service to unseat those awful apps.
Burbs Burgers is closing up shop. This was a local five store company. Real shame, I never had a chance to get to one. Burgers looked good.
But as one burger spot closes another moves right on in. Not into the Burbs spot but the former 8 oz Burger spot on Broadway will get a 206 Burger. What is with all the numbers?
Chicken teriyaki is a thing in this town. Who knew. There are a number of places around town doing and will get to one soon but seems this one on Broadway is biting the dust after 15 years.
And just like that the chicken teriyaki is back! That didn’t take long.
BRING BACK MARIO! Or at least his portrait you no good thieves! Drunk folks who want pizza at 2am shouldn’t have to suffer like this!
Evidently an In-And-Out is coming to Washington. Not my fave and I don’t get the hype but seems the original idea may have come from an Olympia spot. Hmmm, stolen ideas? Okay looks like it is going to be Ridgefield?
And local doughnut chain Top Pot celebrates cherry blossom season with all types of cherry doughnuts because every place needs a marketing gimmick!
KFC brings it with the chizza?! That’s a pizza made with fried chicken topped with pepperoni and cheese because it is all about Atkins and no carbs. Who cares about fat and calories!
